Clip Studio Paint Shortcuts and Tips

One of the most important aspects of drawing digitally is knowing where to find your tools, and knowing how to access them quickly. I’ve provided a list below of some of the shortcuts I use most often. These shortcuts can also be assigned/binded to any additional buttons your tablet display may have.

Please note, some of the shortcuts will work in other programs like Adobe Photoshop and Krita.

P Pencil

B Brush

E Eraser

I Eye drop

L Lasso

Ctrl + Zoom In

Ctrl - Zoom Out

Space Bar Pan

Ctrl E Merge Current Layer Down

Ctrl T Transform Current Layer

Along with shortcuts, familiarize yourself with your workspace. Window panels can be moved around to your liking. Register and name your workspaces. Personally, I have a workspace for illustrating and another for animating.

Finally, I’d like to recommend occasional flipping of your drawing canvas on the horizontal axis to help you identify your mistakes. Doing this periodically while you sketch will benefit you greatly. The ability to flip the canvas can be set as a shortcut or by clicking the flip button in the preview window.
